Warm greetings from The Heritage Xperiential Learning School, Gurgaon!
We are glad to share, that our fourth batch started their journey in the morning, reaching the camp safely around 8.30 am. Once the children had a scrumptious breakfast, protocols were set to efficiently work towards the purpose of the day, considering their safety and welfare. Before they started for the fields, experts demonstrated the way to carefully harvest the crop. Soon, the learners proceeded to their respective farming areas, on which they started harvesting the peas. After collecting the overall harvest, they weighed the yield. Children, as young farmers, were delighted and celebrated by dancing with folk music.
At 11.15 am, they broke for a lemonade drink and fruits. Thereafter, one of the sections made packets of peas which were later distributed among them during the appreciation circle. The class teacher consolidated their farming experience in the session. Students reflected on few questions posed by the educator and shared their learning. On the other hand, the other section experienced an expert talk on the nutrition in peas, which was followed by the joy of making peas samosas.
Students will be served lunch at 1.00 pm. After some free time post lunch, the sections will swap their activities. Once both the sections complete their respective activities, they will relish their self-made pea samosas with milk and are expected to disperse from the farm around 4.00 pm, likely to reach the school by 5.15 pm. However, you will receive a confirmation about the same through a sms. Kindly keep a buffer time of 15 minutes before/ after the expected time of arrival.
