The children reached the farm at Jhajjar at 9:00 a.m. They freshened up and had a delicious breakfast along with hot milk. Post breakfast they were briefed about what the day would look like for them.
Out of the two sections, one section went into the field to harvest organic kinoos from trees which thrilled the children. Some of these kinoos were used to get juice out of, to be had later. The remaining kinoos will be carried home by the children. The children then spent some time playing a round of games in the open kinoo fields. Meanwhile, the students of the other section took a tour of the farm. During the tour, they were briefed about the difference between Organic, Natural and Chemical farming by the facilitator. The activities will be swapped between the two sections after the kinoo juice break at 11a.m.
Lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m. In the ensuing session, they will interact with Dagar ji, the owner of the farm along with their own farmer (organic/ natural farmers) and some conventional farmers to understand their take on the type of farming they practise. Children will also interact specifically with their farmer to gather information they would need for creating the Farmer’s Profile.
Towards the end of the day, fresh juice will be served to all. The batch is expected to leave for school at 3:00 p.m. Children will be served a light snack in the bus.
