Khoj Update for 7A and 7D (5.12.15) Day 5

Dear Parents, Greetings from The Heritage School, Gurgaon! The children started with a wake up call for milk and biscuits at 06:30 a.m. At 7:30 am they had their morning circle where children were delighted to listen to their counterparts sharing. This openness and bonding is a direct outcome of the time the students spent with the village children at their home. The reflection question asked today was ‘When is freedom for you?’ and ‘when do you feel free?’. The children from the village felt the most free while doing their home works or while eating. Whereas our children felt free whenever they could work according to themselves. Some have this feeling of freedom when in school, some while pursuing their hobbies while some even shared the solo time on the sand dune being a moment of freedom they relished. Following their breakfast at 8: 30 a.m., children are now completely engaged in the designing of the campaign. The campaign design framework and the rubrics are being used by children to self- assess and review their plan and other elements of the campaign design. They did a brainstorming session regarding the name of the campaign to ensure appropriateness of the same. They have aalso been practising the songs they are using in their respective theatre pieces with Mr. Nathu Khan. Bath and lunch time is scheduled from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm after which the children will leave for campaigning in the village of Bajju-Tejpur. All children are thrilled about their attachment with village children as their theatre represents an important role in presenting a relevant and meaningful campaign. Our children are buzzing with creative tension and raring to start their first crusade for the awareness and implementation of Child Rights. After the return of the students, dinner will be served at 8:30 pm. Special care is taken to provide simple, delicious and home cooked meals to the children. Children are keeping healthy and happy.
