Communication for Khoj – Grade 6 A and 6 C (14.12.17)

Dear Parents

Yesterday, the young story-tellers witnessed a demonstration of the technique of story telling, Kissa Goi. Students tried to create their own narratives using history of Delhi as a framework. They were given feedback on elements of story telling that need to be emphasised. It will be helpful when students attempt to build up their stories or Kissa Goi today.

Today the day commenced with the group taking an early morning trip to the lanes of Chandni Chowk where the children savoured the many flavours of the paranthas in Paranthe Wali Gali. The children took delight in relishing the authentic flavours of Old Delhi. They continued their journey to the Jain Temple and Purani Haveli where the children witnessed the architecture and layout of the expanse, which still preserves the era of the Mughal period, as they walked through the by-lanes in the serene early morning time.

The group then returned to the hostel, bathed and relaxed.
Post lunch, the students will visit the Coins and the Arms and Armour galleries today at the National Museum and record their observations.

The evening session will recommence at the hostel after milk and snacks. The interpretations from the day will be consolidated and discussed. The group will then resume the session on Kissa Goi. The children will further practice the skill to combine oral storytelling and historical references.

The day will come to a close with dinner and Circle Time for taking stock and reflections.

The children are engaged and immersed in their activities. Click on the link to view pictures.Khoj Pictures
