Communication for Khoj – Grade 6 A and 6 C (13.12.17)

Dear Parents

Today, the group left school premises and headed over to Red Fort. After a tour of the fort, the learners were divided into crews to study the five structures of Red Fort after which they attended a hosted gallery at the location which gave them a glimpse of the Mughal empire, its governance and architecture. They were served fruit juice and biscuits there. The group will then return to the hostel and children will get time for lunch, bathing and for being with their friends.

Post lunch, the group will proceed to the National Museum where they will visit the coins and arms and armour exhibit.

They will observe artefacts from different eras and this will allow them to make connections with various rulers and time periods. Once they return to the hostel, they will be served evening snacks. The children will be given own time in order to play games in the lawns of the hostel.

The evening session will begin with debrief of the day. it will be followed by a demonstration of the technique of Kissa Goi by the experts through which the children would create their own two-minute narratives using history of Delhi as a context.

The students are engrossed and intrigued by the experience of exploring the multifaceted city of Delhi and its rich, colourful history.
