Courage to Lead-2011

Greetings !

Disha India Centre for Experiential Learning, an educational initiative of the Heritage School, has launched “Courage to Lead-2011” a leadership program for present and future school leaders. The purpose of the program is to redefine learning systems and structures in the school and in the process empower school leadership to re-invent schools. One of the important objectives of the program is to understand what it takes to build a learning and caring culture in schools. This is the fourth program in series. The program was launched in the year 2008 and is supported by Wipro Ltd. through its social initiative ‘Wipro Applying Thought in Schools.’ To know more about Disha India, please visit the website http://www.dishaindiaeducation.org/

It is a ten day fully residential program. It comprises of two five day expedition spread over a duration of three month. The expeditions are supplemented by one-on-one coaching sessions. The main objective of the coaching sessions is to assist school leaders to create a plan for the development of their respective schools.

The schedule of the program is:

1. The first expedition is from Nov 09 to 13, 2011 at Camp Riverwils, Shivpuri, Rishikesh.
2. The second expedition is from Jan 04 to 08, 2012 at ATGMC, Sector 62, Gurgaon

Some of the schools which have participated in Courage to Lead programs are The Heritage schools (Gurgaon and Delhi), Akanksha Foundation (Mumbai and Pune), Mayoor School (Ajmer), DPS (Surat, Patna, Pune, Ludhiana and Gurgaon), Bal Bharati Public School (Noida and Pitampura), Sri Venkteshwar International School (Dwarka, New Delhi), G D Goenka World School (Dwarka, New Delhi), Sangamitra High School, (Hyderabad), Lilavatibai Poddar School (Mumbai), Vidya Bhawan Society (Udaipur), Jingle Bell Academy (Faisabad), CRPF Public School (Delhi), St. Willibrord International School (Mumbai) and Al Ameen Academy (Kolkotta).

The details of the program are enclosed in the brochure. I would encourage you to share the program with educators who are engaged and and keen to make education more meaningful and joyful for children. This program can also be attended by individuals who are interested in education and are keen to get into educational entrepreneurship. The last date for registration is October 08, 2011.
