Exceptional IB Results

Over the last two years, teachers have worked relentlessly with our students to prepare a community of learners who are prepared to engage with global challenges through inquiry, action and reflection. Additionally, the programme offered opportunities to develop both disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding that meet rigorous international standards.

Heritage Xperiential Learning School introduced the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) for its students in July 2015.

This two-year long journey culminated in the declaration of our first set of IB results in July 2017. We are proud to share that our students have performed brilliantly – Class average score of 36 points* – clearly placing us as one of the top IB schools in India. This year’s global IB average is 29.9 points and entry into Top Ivy League colleges are generally at 36 points, so to achieve this as an average is a cause for celebration indeed!

The average score of our top 5 students is 40.2 points, which is in the top 6% of results globally. Three of our students scored 41 points, placing them among the top 4% of candidates globally. What is also noteworthy is that most of our students have scored perfect 7’s (which are 100% scores) in Economics, Mathematics, Psychology, Biology, Business Management, and French which is a feat achieved by not more than 4-10% of students globally.

We would also like to share that more than 75% of the batch have received unconditional offers from five to eight colleges each, and are in the process of accepting the offers from the colleges of their choice – University of Southern California, Claremont McKenna College, Purdue University, New York University, University of Illinois, University of Warwick, University of Hong Kong, to name a few.

Our very first IB batch of students will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

*A brief summary of how the points are calculated is as follows: The IBDP program comprises six subject groups, underpinned by the DP core consisting of The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay (EE). Students choose a course from within each of the 6 subject groups. For most courses, students take written examinations at the end of the DP. In many programme areas, students complete externally assessed coursework. In the DP, students receive grades ranging from 1 to 7, with 7 being highest. With 6 subjects carrying 7 points each, the score is calculated out of 42 points and the TOK and EE collectively, contribute up to 3 additional points towards the overall diploma score, thus bringing the total points a student can achieve to 45.
